Monuments & Headstones

8 Questions

We offer a full range of monument styles including upright headstones, flat grave markers, slant markers, bevel markers, ledger stones, companion monuments, and infant and child memorials. All are available in granite and marble in a wide range of colors and finishes.

Granite is the most durable monument material available. It resists weathering, staining, and chipping over decades of outdoor exposure, making it the most popular choice for permanent memorials. Marble has a classic, traditional appearance with a softer, warmer look. Our consultants will help you choose the right material for your needs and cemetery requirements.

Yes. Every monument we produce is custom. You choose the stone type, color, shape, size, finish, engraving, artwork, and any additional design elements. Our design team works with you through the full process — from initial concept to a CAD proof you approve before production begins. Nothing goes into production without your written approval.

Standard monuments typically take 6 to 10 weeks from design approval to delivery. Complex custom designs or specialty stone may take longer. We provide a production timeline estimate at the time of your order and keep you informed throughout the process.

Yes. We manage the full process including verifying cemetery regulations, obtaining any required approvals, and handling professional installation at the cemetery. You do not need to coordinate separately with the cemetery — we handle that on your behalf.

Yes. We add additional engraving to existing monuments regularly — for the second spouse on a companion monument, updated dates, or additional inscriptions. In most cases this can be done at the cemetery without removing the stone. Contact us with the details of your existing monument and we will advise on the best approach.

Yes. We offer bronze markers as standalone memorials or mounted on granite bases. Bronze markers are a popular choice for flat cemetery sections and are available in a range of sizes and designs. Contact us for pricing and design options.

A Legacy Keepsake QR Tribute is a permanent QR code embedded into or affixed to a monument that links to a digital memorial page for your loved one. Visitors to the cemetery can scan the code with any smartphone to access photos, a biography, video tributes, and family messages. It bridges the physical monument with a living, shareable digital legacy. Ask your consultant for details.

Mobile Concierge

6 Questions

Greater Atlanta Memorials is Georgia's original mobile monument company, established in 1984. Instead of requiring families to visit a showroom during one of the most difficult times in their lives, our consultants come directly to you — your home, a funeral home, or the cemetery itself — with stone samples, design catalogs, and everything needed to complete a full monument consultation on-site.

We serve all 18 Metro Atlanta counties. If you are unsure whether your location falls within our service area, call us at (770) 474-3829 and we will confirm immediately. In some cases we can accommodate requests outside the standard service area — just ask.

Yes. Our standard 30-minute introductory consultation is completely free with no obligation. We also offer a paid consultation starting at $75 for families who want a more comprehensive session including a full design review, cemetery site visit, and a CAD proof of the monument. The paid consultation fee is credited toward your order if you proceed.

You can book online through our contact page, call us at (770) 474-3829, or send us a message. We typically have same-week availability. After booking you will receive a confirmation with your appointment details.

It helps to have the cemetery name and section information, the full legal name and dates for the inscription, and any photos or design ideas you would like to incorporate. If you have a photo of your loved one for a portrait etching, bring that as well. Our consultant will guide you through everything else.

Yes. Meeting at the cemetery is one of the most common consultation locations. It allows our consultant to assess the site directly, confirm cemetery regulations, take measurements, and help you visualize how the monument will look in the actual space. Many families find this the most meaningful way to begin the process.

Engraving

6 Questions

The Engraving House Monument Co. in Lithonia, GA specializes in precision laser engraving, portrait etchings, custom monument design, government and military marker production, commercial stone signage, and wholesale engraving services for other monument dealers. If it can be set in stone, The Engraving House can engrave it.

Yes. Portrait etchings are one of our most requested services. Our craftsmen can produce a detailed, lifelike portrait etching directly on granite from a photograph. The quality of the source photo affects the final result — a clear, high-resolution photo produces the best etching. We review the photo with you before production and advise on suitability.

Yes. The Engraving House is an experienced producer of government and military markers, including VA-approved markers for veterans. We understand the specific requirements for military inscriptions, emblems, and formatting and ensure every marker meets the required standards.

Yes. The Engraving House produces custom commercial signage in granite and stone for businesses, institutions, and government facilities. Stone signage is permanent, weather-resistant, and conveys a level of prestige that other materials cannot match. Contact us to discuss your commercial signage project.

Yes. The Engraving House provides wholesale engraving services to monument dealers, funeral homes, and other trade partners across Georgia. If your business needs reliable, high-quality engraving production, contact us through our Trade Partners page to discuss a wholesale account.

We accept most common image formats including JPEG, PNG, PDF, and vector files (AI, EPS, SVG). For portrait etchings, a high-resolution JPEG or PNG is preferred. For logos and custom artwork intended for commercial signage, a vector file produces the sharpest result. If you are unsure about your file, send it to us and we will advise before any work begins.

Cemetery Services

5 Questions

Our cemetery services include monument installation, coping and chips installation, headstone repair and restoration, monument cleaning, and grave site beautification. We work at cemeteries across Metro Atlanta and surrounding counties and coordinate directly with cemetery management on your behalf.

Yes. We repair and restore existing headstones including re-setting leaning or fallen monuments, repairing chips and cracks, and cleaning biological growth and staining. Contact us with details about the monument and we will advise on the appropriate restoration approach and provide a quote.

Coping refers to the granite or stone border placed around the perimeter of a grave plot, defining the space and giving it a finished, dignified appearance. Chips — typically white marble or granite chips — are placed inside the coping to fill the grave space, prevent weed growth, and maintain a clean, maintained look year-round. We install both as part of our cemetery services.

Yes. We provide professional monument cleaning using appropriate stone-safe cleaning products and methods. Over time, monuments accumulate biological growth (moss, lichen, algae), staining, and general weathering. Professional cleaning restores the stone's appearance and protects it from further deterioration. We recommend cleaning every 3 to 5 years depending on the cemetery environment.

We work at most cemeteries across Metro Atlanta and surrounding counties. Some cemeteries have specific requirements for approved vendors or installation methods — we are familiar with the requirements of most major cemeteries in our service area and handle all necessary approvals. If you have a specific cemetery in mind, contact us and we will confirm our ability to work there.
